Hounds of the Heath 4 is part of a lively suite of linocut prints all about the joy and rhythm of dog walking in suburbia. Through relief printing, I capture that special bond between humans and their furry friends, right in the heart of everyday life.
I spend loads of time wandering my local streets with our dog, and those walks spark all my ideas. Each piece starts as a simple line drawing, recalling funny, sweet, or unexpected moments from the route — all from memory and feeling.
The bold, eye-catching look comes from layering multiple linoleum blocks and mixing opaque and transparent inks for depth and punch.
Using red carbon paper, I transfer my drawings onto the lino, then carve away intuitively with sharp tools — it’s hands-on, fun, and a bit like a creative adventure.
Each print is lovingly handmade on a traditional Albion platen press, printed onto smooth Fabriano 200gsm acid-free paper, making every piece truly special and tactile.

This print is a Test Print (TP), personally titled and signed in pencil, carefully wrapped in glassine tissue, sealed in cellophane, and rolled snugly in a sturdy triangular tube. It’s insured and tracked with Royal Mail for secure, speedy delivery: 2–3 days in Europe, 3–5 days worldwide.
