Memory Maps: Walking Discs
I make much of my work from walking. The routes around Horton Heath and the surrounding Hampshire landscape are familiar, repeated over many years, but each walk brings different encounters and observations.
The Memory Maps: Walking Discs series explores these journeys through imagined maps. Using the circular form of the ancient Phaistos Disc as a starting point, I combine fragments of landscape, paths and memory in a series of original prints.
Each print combines two coloured linocut layers with a final black wood engraving, printed by hand in my Hampshire studio.
Walking Discs 1–8 form the first group in the series, with further discs in development.
